All images were shot on 35mm or 120mm film, with all black & white photo and negative processing done by the artist.

Lela's upbringing in the urban playground of Seattle, combined with her travel throughout Europe and South America, shaped her eye for both the overlooked urban landscape, as well as landscapes in nature. 

Lela is a trained photographer and printmaker. She has extensive knowledge of traditional darkroom printing, polaroid process, as well as practice in alternative processes such as wet plate collodion, cyanotype, using wintergreen and citrasol to transfer images, and pinhole photography. In printmaking, she has been trained in polymer plates, zinc etching, gum xerox transfers, and linoleum and woodcut prints, as well as in traditional letterpress printing. She is a graduate of the studio art program at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
